Was and Were

Hello everyone, today we are going to go back to discussing English grammar. Let's look at the past tense of am/is/are which are Was/Were and how to use them.


 

I/He/She/It

If the subject is from the list above, you can form an affirmative, negative, question, and yes no questions sentences in this way.


  • I/He/She/It was in Los Angeles last weekend.


  • I/He/She/It wasn't at home yesterday.


  • Where was I/he/she/it last week?


  • Was he/she at school last week?


 

We/You/They

If the subject is from the list above you can form an affirmative, negative, question, and yes no questions sentences in this way.


  • We/You/They were in Tokyo last year for summer break.


  • We/You/They weren't able to go to the concert because the trains were late.


  • Where were we/you/they trying to go?


  • Were you/they able to see Tokyo SkyTree?
