Today, I want to talk about hobbies that you might already be pursuing that you can expand upon with the implementation of an English focus throughout this coming year. If you enjoy reading, and want to improve your English, perhaps you should start off by finding and reading news articles that are of interest you. If you have a fair understanding of English, go to your library, or book store, and see if you are able to find a foreign section. You might also consider going online to your favorite online retailer and see if you can find books in English. If you have a favorite book, find it's translation so you can compare the two.
If you enjoy films, see if your streaming service or DVD or other media has an option to change the language or subtitles setting to English. Again, try to find films or shows that you are already familiar with so you can better pick out words and phrases.
If you like to listen to music, go to your favorite streaming service, or website like YouTube and look for artists whom you like. Look up the song's lyrics and read through them. Listen and repeat. If you enjoy singing, try to sing along with it.
